Advantages/disadvantages of using a baitcast reel for bass fishing?
I want to learn how to use baitcasters and im planning on buying a shimano crucial with 15 pound spider wire braid and a 6'6" shimano crucial M action. What are the disadvantages advantages of using a baitcaster as compared to a spinning reel. thanks.
I need help choosing some bass lures for strippit fishing?
Hi, I'm new to bass fishing, and am not sure what to get as far as lures go. The strip pit we own is huge. It has been around since the 1930's, so the fish in it are quite big. It is at most 60 feet deep, and the water clarity is stained. There is also lots of weeds and debris in the water. I usually enjoy fishing with a 1 4 oz jig head with a 4 inch grub, but this doesn't always work. So I need some more variety. What should I get? I'm not sure about size, color, type, etc. Ithink bright colors work best in stained murky water? I like soft plastics best. I'm also stuck on what rod reel combo I should get. I'm thinking a Zebco 33. Any suggestions? Please help...Largemouth bass.

Any tips for striper fishing in york Maine?
Im going up there tomorrow and i have not had much luck up there the past few years and i really,really want to catch one but i have no real clue what to use. The past years ive been using chunk's of herring and mackerel or clams but nothing seams to work. usually i go to the beach at night depending on high tide. so if anyone has any tips on that or even just catching a striper anywhere it would be much helped. Salt has gotten into my fishing reel. How do I get it out?
My cousin borrowed my rod for the summer when I went to California for a program. When I came back I had found that he had been fishing in the surf with it but had not properly washed it and soaked it in water after every trip. Now the reel won't turn when I try. Is there something I can do to fix it or is it a total loss?It is a spinning reel.I have tried soaking it but it didn't work. If I were to disassemble it, how would the process to clean it?

i just found out the millstone river is across the street from my house so i started fishing there yesterday and caught 1 catfish and a small pickeral ... is there anything in there except catfish and pickeral because i never heard of like trout or anything in it i like how there is alot of pickeral to fish for but there anoying to unhook if i follow it down to a good spot would i catch anything else or should i just stay where i am and catch these fish i heard there were small mouth but i dont know thanks for any answers
